Hugs for Ghana is a student-led 501(c) organization dedicated to supporting and to encouraging children in Ghana, West Africa through creative grassroots projects and collected gift item donations. The organization specifically targets children in villages, hospitals, schools, orphanages and children home, and other child-related areas in Ghana. Hugs for Ghana believes in the power of students and youth to effect positive change in their communities and in the world. Hugs for Ghana develops and implements programs that benefit Ghanaian communities so that both children and volunteers may be empowered to reach their full potential.
The mission of Hugs for Ghana is to share love, hope, and confidence with Ghana’s youngest citizens so that they can have the ability to make positive contributions in their own communities. Led by a committed group of students, the organization strives to impact communities in Ghana by using and reaching youth, as young people are catalysts of social change. By empowering both volunteers and Ghanaian youth, positive contributions can be made to communities. By receiving a donation or benefiting from an original Hugs for Ghana project, children will be positively impacted and encouraged.
Hugs for Ghana aims to put a smile on the faces of children through the gift of a hug, possibly impacting them for a lifetime.
